A Weekend with Nick and Asher

We started off the weekend with our slip and slide and time in the sun. Where will we sit when Mr. Bill sells his house? I hope our new neighbors like little boys....

Brandon and Laura celebrated 11 years together this weekend. Tom and I watched Nick and Asher so they could get away for the night. We went to the park, we played with the slip and slide, and we ended our weekend at Scooter's Jungle.

The big slide at Scooter's Jungle was a big hit. Matt didn't need any help getting up the slide this time. He is getting so big!

Happy Fourth of July!

We spent the fourth with AJ and Mark at the their home in San Clemente. They have a beautiful house overlooking Dana Point and San Clemente.

Tom and Thom enjoyed helping the kids set off sparklers.

Matthew couldn't get enough of the cookies.

Our friends Tiffany and Thom live just up the street.

It was such a pretty night and we could see four different fireworks shows.

AJ and mark passed out Glow sticks after the sun set. The boys lost all interest in the fireworks after that :)

Matthew Hits the Road

Matthew is officially a bike rider (with training wheels). Patrick was close behind giving him pointers for a successful maiden voyage.

Patrick learned to ride without training wheels in May for his trike a thon! He learned to ride all by himself.

A Week in Paradise with the Gillilands

This is the beach up the street from Michelle's house. It was so beautiful. Since we were on the Marine base, all of the beaches were private and empty. Just a few surfers and sunbathers to be found.

Joe, Michelle and Colin were great hosts and took me all over the island. After only eight months living there, you would think they were locals.

The shave ice in Oahu can't be beat. We drove an hour to get the best. The condensed milk on top makes it all the more yummy!

Baby Colin just turned one and he is already saying a few words and using his sign language. He is just starting to walk all over the place!

Michelle played tour guide and took me to Pearl Harbor. It was her third trip on two months! I think she could lead the tour by now.

The last time I was here was 21 years ago when I was 18, just after graduation. They have added on a lot of interesting exhibits highlighting the heroism of our Veterans.

The boys loved all of their gifts from Oahu. Their favorite was the shark tooth necklace. So cool!

End of the Year Celebrations

Patrick and his friends sang beautiful songs at the end of the year Mother's Day show. The kids were allowed to wear their favorite costume. Matthew was Superman, of course.

There were fun crafts and projects for the kids afterwards.

Patrick's favorite was the the Tattoos. He had tattoos on his cheeks, his hands, his arms, you name it!

Patrick and Matthew tried their very best to do a good job on Mom's nails.

John was so proud to show off all of his amazing work at the end of the year Open House at his school.

Everyone had fun at John's Class Field Day during the water balloon toss. Here he is with his good friend, Alex.

John's teacher, Sra. Jacome let the class throw water balloons at her at the end of the day. The kids were so surprised, they didn't know what to do!

Tom and I enjoyed an evening out at the end of the year. The Santiago staff treated us to an amazing dinner at our favorite place, Nick's, in San Clemente.

Dad, Patrick and Matthew were triplets for the Father's day event at their preschool. They all wore grey T shirts and sweatpants. It's hard to tell them apart!
